What the 96Astro API is, how it is organised and where to start.
The 96Astro API gives your app or website the same calculations that power 96Astro: Vedic birth charts and divisional charts, dashas, panchang, matching, doshas and yogas, KP, Jaimini, Lal Kitab, Western astrology, Tarot, numerology, reports and more. It is one REST API with one response format across every family.
API v1 preview
These docs describe API v1, which is opening for self-serve signup. Existing customers of the current API are not affected; see Existing customers.
How it is organised
- Families group related calculations, for example Dasha systems or Panchang & almanac. Browse them in the catalogue or the API reference.
- Capabilities are the individual calculations. Each has one endpoint, a published credit cost and, where relevant, options such as a divisional chart, an ayanamsha or a chart style.
- Status: a capability is either Available or Beta. Beta capabilities work, but their output may still change. They are labelled everywhere they appear.
